Policies and FAQ

Policies & Frequently Asked Questions

At Pate Ranch Creations, most of what we make is handcrafted, personalized, or made specifically for you. Because custom work is different from purchasing a mass-produced product off the shelf, please review the following policies before placing your order.

Custom & Personalized Orders

Custom, personalized, engraved, printed, branded, and made-to-order products are final sale and are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

This includes items customized with names, initials, dates, logos, brands, artwork, colors, designs, or other customer-requested specifications.

Once production has begun, custom orders cannot be canceled or changed. If a change is still possible, additional design, material, or production charges may apply.

Proofs & Customer Approval

Most custom orders include a digital proof before production.

Please review your proof carefully. By approving a proof, you are confirming that the spelling, names, dates, wording, logo, artwork, layout, and other requested details are correct.

Once a proof is approved and production begins, Pate Ranch Creations is not responsible for errors that were present in the approved proof.

If we make an error that differs from the approved proof or order specifications, please contact us within the timeframe listed below and we will work with you to make it right.

Digital proofs are intended to show design and layout. They are not an exact representation of wood grain, leather texture, engraving shade, stain color, print color, or other natural material characteristics.

Extensive redesigns, artwork cleanup, or repeated revisions may require an additional design fee.

Customer-Provided Information & Artwork

Customers are responsible for providing accurate personalization information and usable artwork.

Please double-check names, initials, dates, spelling, quantities, and other customization details before submitting your order.

The quality of the finished engraving or print is dependent in part on the quality of the artwork supplied. Low-resolution, blurry, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable artwork may require modification or replacement before production.

By submitting a logo, trademark, brand, copyrighted image, or other artwork, you confirm that you have permission or legal authority to use that artwork.

Pate Ranch Creations reserves the right to decline any artwork or customization request, including requests involving trademarks or licensed properties for which proper authorization cannot be confirmed.

Trademark Infringement

Pate Ranch Creations will not produce artwork, designs, logos, or images that we believe may infringe upon the trademark, copyright, trade dress, brand identity, or other intellectual property rights of another person or company.

This policy applies to all customer-supplied artwork, including AI-generated images, mockups, concept art, and edited designs.

AI-generated artwork may unintentionally include copied, derivative, or confusingly similar elements from existing brands, logos, characters, or copyrighted works. If submitted artwork appears to violate or potentially violate intellectual property rights, Pate Ranch Creations reserves the right to refuse the order, request replacement artwork, or require proof of authorization before proceeding.

The customer is solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to use any submitted artwork, logos, trademarks, names, designs, or other protected material.

Submission of artwork does not obligate Pate Ranch Creations to produce it. We reserve the right to decline any project that, in our judgment, presents a legal, ethical, or brand-risk concern.

AI-Generated Images & Artwork

Customers may submit AI-generated images, mockups, or concepts as design references. However, AI-generated images are not automatically considered production-ready artwork.

AI images may contain distorted text, inaccurate logos, trademarked elements, unusual proportions, colors, textures, or design details that cannot be reproduced exactly with our materials or production processes.

Pate Ranch Creations reserves the right to modify, simplify, redraw, reject, or request replacement artwork when an AI-generated image is not suitable for production.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, AI-generated mockups should be considered design inspiration rather than an exact representation of the finished product.

Customers are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to use any images, logos, trademarks, characters, artwork, or other intellectual property submitted to Pate Ranch Creations, including content created or modified using artificial intelligence.

Pate Ranch Creations is not responsible for intellectual property issues resulting from customer-supplied artwork or AI-generated content.

If additional artwork preparation, cleanup, vectorization, redrawing, or design work is required to make submitted artwork production-ready, additional design fees may apply.

Reporting Damage, Defects or Order Errors

We stand behind our workmanship and want you to inspect your order when it arrives.

Any damage, manufacturing defect, incorrect personalization, missing item, or other order issue must be reported to Pate Ranch Creations within 7 calendar days of confirmed delivery.

Please include your order number and clear photographs showing the issue.

Claims made outside of this inspection period generally cannot be accommodated.

Issues caused by a Pate Ranch Creations production error will be evaluated for repair, replacement, or another appropriate resolution.

A change in preference, expectation, or intended use after receiving an accurately produced custom item is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Shipping Damage

Please inspect shipped orders promptly.

Damage believed to have occurred during shipping should be reported within 48 hours of delivery whenever possible. Please retain the product, packaging, shipping box, and packing materials and provide photographs so we can document the carrier claim.

Pate Ranch Creations cannot be responsible for damage reported after an extended period when the condition of the shipment at the time of delivery can no longer be verified.

Natural Wood Products

Real wood is a natural material. Grain pattern, color, knots, mineral marks, texture, engraving darkness, and other characteristics will vary from piece to piece.

Wood can also absorb stain and finish differently throughout the same piece.

These natural variations are part of what makes each handcrafted item unique and are not considered defects.

Products made from natural wood will not look identical to product photographs, samples, or previously produced pieces.

Natural Leather Products

Leather is also a natural material.

Color, grain, texture, scars, wrinkles, markings, thickness, and the way leather accepts engraving, embossing, dye, or printing may vary.

These characteristics are normal and are part of working with genuine leather. Natural variations are not considered manufacturing defects.

Leather will also change with age and use, developing character and patina over time.

Engraving, Printing & Color Variation

Engraving results can vary depending on the material being engraved. Natural wood and leather may engrave lighter or darker from one area or product to another.

Colors viewed on phones, monitors, photographs, and digital proofs may also differ from the finished product.

Minor variations in color, placement, texture, engraving tone, and appearance that are inherent to the material or production process are not considered defects.

Glass & Powder-Coated Products

Our engraved glassware and powder-coated products are produced individually using commercial engraving equipment.

Because these products are custom made, personalized products are final sale.

Minor differences in engraving appearance from item to item can occur and are considered normal.

Normal Wear & Product Care

Handcrafted products are intended to be used, and normal wear will occur over time.

Damage caused by normal wear, improper care, misuse, exposure to inappropriate conditions, dropping, scratching, dishwashers when not recommended, cleaning chemicals, moisture, heat, or other customer use is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Please follow any care instructions supplied with your product.

Order Changes & Cancellations

Because many products are made specifically for each customer, order changes and cancellations must be requested before production begins.

Once materials have been cut, engraved, printed, dyed, sewn, assembled, or otherwise placed into production, the order cannot be canceled or refunded.

If we are able to accommodate a requested change after work has started, additional charges may apply.

Production Times & Customer Approvals

Production timelines are based on receiving all required information, artwork, and approvals from the customer.

If we are waiting on artwork, personalization details, a proof approval, or another customer decision, the production schedule may be delayed.

A requested “need date” does not guarantee delivery by that date unless Pate Ranch Creations has specifically agreed to the deadline.

Rush production is subject to availability and may require an additional rush fee.

Shipping

Shipping charges are based on package size, weight, destination, and service selected.

Shipping charges include postage as well as the packaging materials required to safely ship your order.

Once an order is transferred to the shipping carrier, delivery schedules may be affected by weather, carrier delays, holidays, or other circumstances outside the control of Pate Ranch Creations.

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. Additional shipping charges may apply if an order must be resent because an incorrect or incomplete address was provided.

Final Sale Items

The following are not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Personalized, monogrammed, engraved, printed, branded, or otherwise customized products
  • Made-to-order products
  • Approved custom designs
  • Final-sale or clearance products
  • Products showing normal wear and tear
  • Products damaged through misuse or improper care

Questions Before Ordering?

Custom work has a lot of moving parts. If you have questions about materials, personalization, artwork, sizing, timing, or whether something can be made, please contact us before placing your order or approving your proof.

We would much rather answer the question before we make it than after.
